Bridgemate at EBL and WBF tournaments in 2006After the successes of Bridgemate at EBL and WBF tournaments in 2005, there was no doubt anymore that both
organizations would continue using Bridgemate in their tournaments. Both organizations held one tournament in 2006.
The largest tournament was the 12th World Bridge Championships in Verona, Italy, organized by the
World Bridge Federation. In two weeks time, not less than 147.506 boards were scored with Bridgemates.
All players, including prominent persons like mr. Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft Corporation,
and Mrs. Emma Casto-Cruz, sister of Fidel Castro, enjoyed the high quality of scoring and results reporting
powered by the Bridgemate. This was once more confirmed by WBF president mr. José Damiani, saying
"I know you all enjoyed the service provided by this new and exciting technology."

In August 2006, the 48th European Bridge Team Championships were held in Warsaw, Poland.
Although this tournament is the smallest EBL/WBF tournament for the Bridgemate scoring system so far,
the 36.432 boards that were played, were all smoothly scored with Bridgemate.
Combined with the Polish online publishing software, all scores were instantly reported on the
championships website where viewers all over the world could follow the matches' progress real-time.

Tournaments in 2005
Early 2005, the European Bridge League and the World Bridge Federation acquired together the
Bridgemate Pro wireless scoring system to be used in all their events.
The first big EBL event for Bridgemate was the second Open European Championships which was held in Arona,
Tenerife, from June 18th till July 2nd 2005. In two weeks time, the Bridgemate recorded more than 75.000 scores.
